Great topic! I think this can be a huge and complicated (and I've even seen heated) conversation. I think a great way to start is simply and casually reminding all staff together (maybe in a team meeting) to review their social media privacy settings and be aware of what anyone/the general public can see. This may create an action without making anyone feel their outside of work activities are being questioned or judged. :)

Interesting concept but I wonder how easy it would be for a dog to accidentally flip the switch back on!?

in the topic Even Apes Can Use iPads in the forum Tech Trends
I saw this article about Orangutans at Smithsonian's National Zoo getting iPads! The "Apps for Apes" program is designed to be as educational for humans as it is entertaining for the Orangutans. The message of the program is that conservation of these intelligent animals is important.

in the topic iTunes U in the forum Tech Trends
Recently I started exploring iTunesU on my iPad. I found a search of the term "veterinary" returned quite a few results, but unfortunately nothing recent. Perhaps some of the early adopters had a hard time promoting the content to their students, and gave up. There are courses as well as informational episodes dating back to 2008 from schools like UCDavis and Cornell. More recently Ohio State posted "Introduction to Veterinary Anesthesiology " - an actual course. Everything I looked at can be downloaded and viewed by anyone, at no cost. But, obviously you're not going to receive any credit for the coursework unless you're enrolled in the class. More and more college level coursework is being done online, it will be interesting to watch this category and see if more introductory courses are added in the future for veterinary students. in the topic Virbac Derm Diagnosis App in the forum Tech Trends
If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, you might have heard about this dermatology diagnosis app from Virbac. I'd love to hear feedback from someone who has worked with this app (it's for vets only). Here's a link to it on the Apple App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/virbac-derm-diag/id533804434?mt=8
