Avoiding Caregiver Burnout and Finding Support

  • October 21, 2017 10:02 AM EDT

Caring for a person or a pet affected with any chronic medical condition or illness can be physically and emotionally draining. Whether a pet requires long-term care for a disease (e.g. diabetes or epilepsy) or has a behavior problem requiring lifestyle adjustments, supporting the caregiver is essential for ensuring quality of life for all.

In our recent webinars on the emotional impact of a pet's behavior problem on the caregiver, we heard repeatedly from pet owners about some of their struggles and the array of emotions tied to caring for their special needs pets.

Kristin Buller shared these suggestions for finding support and avoiding caregiver burnout. Thank you Kristin!
