Question submitted during Session III of The Canine Epilepsy Summit:

"How soon after the start of a seizure should emergency meds be administered?"

    - Answer provided by a Session III Panelist:

This is a good question. If you know that your dog manifests severe, cluster of or “long-duration” (e.g., 4-5 mins or more) seizures, then I would definetely advise to give meds (benzodiazepines and levetiracetam) ASAP! If your dog manifests isolated short seizures, then it is not wrong to still give them if you wish.
