Started rescuing in 1976. Political activist against puppy mills, especially in Iowa, the #2 puppy mill state in the nation due to the Amish/Mennonite population! Became a 501(c)3 after Katrina. It was Special Pets Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. Had 14 rescues at one time. Now down to 2 dogs and 3 cats. One dog is fear/aggressive and is under heavy rehab and meds. PB Red tri aussie from the Mennonite puppy mills in Iowa. Other one is a NSDTR rescue named Annie. Zeph is the aussie. Three rescue cats, all ex ferals.
