I'm a retired special education teacher, who has also been involved in dog and cat rescue for many years. I have lost a cat and a dog to cancer, a cat to liver disease, and a dog to the effects of steroid treatment for chronic colitis. I have a huge love and compassion for animals and I have always been able to relate well wtih animals and the special needs children with whom I worked.
