Dr. Thorne received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Florida. Her undergraduate alma mater is American University, in Washington, D.C., where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Thorne grew up in Norwood and is a proud graduate of Ursuline Academy in Dedham. Most recently, Dr. Thorne worked at Westwood Animal Clinic in Westwood, MA. Dr. Thorne was appointed as the Animal Inspector for the Town of Westwood in 2014.
Prior to working at Westwood Animal Clinic, Dr. Thorne worked at Norwood Animal Hospital (she also worked there as a teenager as a veterinary assistant). Dr. Thorne has always had a personal interest in shelter medicine and has she worked for Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach, Florida; the Washington Animal Rescue League in Washington, D.C.; and has done relief work for The Animal Rescue League of Boston (Dedham branch). Dr. Thorne also worked for Banfield Pet Hospital in Sterling, VA.
