Anticoagulant Rodenticide Toxicosis in Dogs

CE Event Information

  • Description:
In this Evidence Based Update we discuss anticoagulant rodenticide toxicosis in dogs with an emphasis on the ocular effects and manifestations.

Anticoagulant rodenticide exposure and toxicity ranks in the top 10 of reported toxicities in dogs and cats. The effects of anticoagulant rodenticides result in hemorrhage, which can be life-threatening if not quickly diagnosed and treated.

The clinical presentations of dogs with anticoagulant rodenticide toxicosis are quite variable and dependent on the primary organ system or site of hemorrhage.
