CE Event Information

  • Description:
Spinal osteoarthritis is a very common problem in companion animals however it is one of the most under-recognized causes of pain for dogs and cats. Animals with back pain may show signs of lameness and confuse clinicians as to the source or location of a pet's problem.

In this segment (which originally aired as part of Session II of The Arthritis Summit) Dr. Rebecca Windsor discusses osteoarthritis of the spine including a review of pertinent anatomic areas of the spine, various conditions of the spine and their common manifestations, diagnostics available to aid in making a diagnosis, and treatment options including medical management (pain control, muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatories, topical therapies) and surgical procedures that can be life-changing for some conditions.
