Summit on Arthritis in Dogs and Cats

CE Event Information

  • Description:
The pain of arthritis (osteoarthritis or OA) adversely impacts the lives of dogs and cats as well as the activities we can share in with them. But there is hope for these animals - beyond a prescription of pain pills.

None of us have to simply settle or accept that the pet in our care should be slowing down due to painful arthritis, and we're here to teach you how you can better help dogs and cats enjoy their best quality of life ... with less pain.

Join us in a one-of-a-kind virtual Summit and learn from world-renowned veterinary experts about all that we can and should be doing to help our four-legged BFFs not just live with pain but thrive and enjoy a quality of life with their human counterparts. The series includes 5 sessions (plus an additional 6th session for veterinary professionals only). Read More by clicking on the OVERVIEW tab for this event.

The Summit will be held live, online and recorded for viewing On Demand (after the live air dates). The sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30p-9:30p ET and will include time for Q/A with the panel of experts.

Throughout this series you will learn all about EXCITING and CUTTING EDGE strategies that veterinarians and pet owners can include in their management and care of a painful pet. Expect to come away with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of osteoarthritis and pain in dogs and cats including:
    - The trajectory or progression of osteoarthritis - From subtle to debilitating
    - Health-related challenges along the way and solutions to treatment even with health-related challenges: kidney, liver disease, etc.
    - The holistic management of osteoarthritis - it's not just that bottle of pain meds or anti-inflammatories that is going to help these animals. Management is multimodal and includes nutrition / supplements, physical interventions & exercises, pain medications, complementary modalities that can help in modulating inflammation and pain, regenerative medicine, and other novel treatments that are on the horizon.
    - How to monitor patients and change treatment plans to best care for individuals - every animal is different!
Treatment is not a ;one-size-fits-all approach.
    - The costs of care and how to manage them: financial, physical, and emotional. How do we support pet owners in affording all of this care?

Registration includes access to the series of presentations.

FEE:  Free for VetVine Premium Membership subscribers if you Pre-Register by 8/30/22; Non-subscriber fees detailed in the OVERVIEW section for this event.
