  In this final segment of a 4-part series on equine end of life, the discussion turns to the subjects of grief, loss, and bereavement. Perspectives will be shared on grief and loss in the human and in the horse that can aid veterinary professionals in supporting those who've lost a companion horse.
  
  This discussion will provide the viewer with novel interpretations of concepts such as empathy, compassion, and anthropomorphism, which will illuminate new ways to approaching the horse-human relationship that are sustainable, bond-centered, and honoring of the horse’s own conception of its life.
