A new system for grading mast cell tumors in dogs has been proposed. Instead of grades I, II and III--many pathologists are recommending using a low vs high grade system ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21062911) in conjunction with the mast cell proliferation panel--c-kit mutation, Ki67, AgNOR, c-kit pattern, +/- PCNA.
What are your thoughts on this new system? Have you been getting biopsy reports with both grading systems? Do you have any questions about this proposed new grading system?
