  • March 3, 2015 3:01 PM EST

A paper recently pubished in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine titled: Comparison of Serum Concentrations of Symmetric Dimethylarginine (SDMA) and Creatinine as Kidney Function Biomarkers in Cats with Chronic Kidney Disease, was the subject of a recent Evidence Based Update (available for On Demand viewing - Approved for 0.25 hour of CE credit by NY State and the NJVMA; pending approval by AAVSB RACE).

A panel of specialists discussed the findings of the paper during a recent Roundtable session. Here is an excerpt of the panel's discussion. Please login and share your comments on this topic!

Great News! IDEXX will be releasing the SMDA Kidney Biomarker test this summer!

It's exciting to see recent research come to light in the clinical setting where we can all take advantage of this new kidney biomarker.

A copy of the information about the test from IDEXX can be downloaded.  Go to the SMALL ANIMAL PRACTITIONERS GROUP. (Join the Group if you haven't already done so) ... Click on DOCUMENTS > then download intro-kidney-test-sdma.
