Hope is not a Strategy

  • November 7, 2013 9:11 AM EST

When you hope something will happen for you- you are waiting for others to make a change. You are waiting for the situation or something in the environment around you to change. Waiting is a choice of taking no action. You have decided to get on the bus of life and let other people drive. When you want to get off that bus and take control of your life plan- there is an opportunity for coaching. Coaching will help you get back in the drivers’ seat.

What coaching does is help you create a strategy for change. A Strategy or road map needs to make sense to you.  A successful strategy for change is one that fits your time frame and needs.  Successful change happens with a process and a plan. Unsuccessful change happens when you get so frustrated you jump into an action with no plan and no idea where you might end up.

What I do with coaching is make sure you start making changes with a map of your successful outcome before you start taking actions.  Coaching brings the skill of guiding the change process to your strategy plan. The end result is focused on you getting more of what you want and deserve out of life.  If you could make one change in your life today- what would it be?
