Management of older dogs with GRPU and normal pressures

    If a dog was diagnosed with GRPU at 10 years of age but is experiencing no issues and has normal intraocular pressure, do you still use topical drops proactively?

    Dr. Wendy Townsend, DVM, MS, DACVO responded:

    Yes, I do.  Just because we want to be sure if the dog lives to be 15-16 years of age that we avoid a slow progression to problems that could cause glaucoma over time.
