A growing number of veterinary clinics are taking steps to become designated as Cat Friendly Practices.  To be designated as a Cat Friendly Practice, they have proven that they understand and are taking specific steps to meet the unique needs of cats and implement feline-friendly standards of care.  These changes are intended to decrease stress and provide a more calming environment for their feline patients.  This can include changes to the facility environment such as feline-only waiting areas and examination rooms, and equipment that they use in their practice.  In addition, their staff has also been trained in feline-friendly handling and understand cat behavior in order to increase the quality of care for their feline patients.
