Canine atopic dermatitis is a complex disease. Management of patients is often multimodal and includes therapies directed at combatting the itch and inflammation as well as restoring the skin barrier.

Stem cell therapy is an emerging treatment option for canine atopic dermatitis and clinical research trials are underway to examine their effectiveness.
