Allergic skin disease (atopic dermatitis) in dogs is one of the most common and frustrating conditions for veterinarians and owners to treat. In our series titled Tackling Skin and Ear Disease we learned quite a lot about atopy as well as common secondary issues that affected dogs can develop including otitis externa (ear infections) and pyoderma (bacterial skin infections).
We learned about the variety of different drugs available that can combat inflammation and itch, but we also learned about another promising treatment option on the horizon - stem cell therapy.
