These days we hear a lot about toxic work environments and the negative impacts on staff morale. The fact is that many working in the veterinary profession today are not thriving. Workplace experiences that have left them feeling angry, distrustful, and self-doubting (especially if medical mistakes or errors were made in the past) can negatively impact their attitude, outlook, and general happiness. This can serve as an impediment to their future success. The statistics are sobering:

  • Roughly 1/2 of veterinarians and 1/4 of veterinary clinic staff feel like they are flourishing in their chosen profession1
  • 50% of veterinary staff report experiencing high levels of burnout1
  • 59% of veterinarians report having had serious psychological distress within the last year but didn’t or couldn’t get the help they needed1

Emotional well-being can play a crucial role in reducing burnout and improving job satisfaction in individuals. This, in turn, can foster a more positive work environment and reduce employee turnover in veterinary practices. ThriveBridge was developed - in partnership with Lori Kogan, PhD - to support the personal transformation of those working in the veterinary profession. It's a path to supporting the fulfillment and success of these professionals and to help them thrive in the veterinary workplace.

"I've worked with countless veterinary professionals who have started new jobs yet carry old baggage with them - sabotaging their future success. Having witnessed this again and again, I wanted to develop a program that helps people do it differently - help them learn, let go, and thrive."
- Lori Kogan, PhD

What is ThriveBridge?

ThriveBridge is a self-paced, online, interactive modular program designed to support the emotional well-being of those working in the veterinary profession. This program was designed for people starting a new job - to help them identify and leave "old baggage" at the door and transition into their next chapter with a fresh mindset positioned for success. People currently employed may also be carrying "old baggage" from their past or may be working in toxic work environments that have them feeling "stuck" or burnout. Whether starting a new job or struggling in your current position, ThriveBridge is for you!

The ThriveBridge program includes 7 modules:

  1. Leaving your emotional baggage behind - 10 mins
  2. Moving beyond anger and resentment - 19 mins
  3. Emotional baggage: Distrust - 24 mins
  4. Emotional baggage: Failure - 15 mins
  5. Emotional baggage: Self-doubt and low self-esteem - 23 mins
  6. Accepting responsibility for your past - 20 mins
  7. Developing a growth mindset - 13 mins
