VetVine Client Care
This is a Practice Management Pearl from Sandy Walsh, RVT, CVPM:
Many pets adopted from shelters or rescue groups have already received some services that a general practice commonly provides. So how can you establish a bond with those owners (AKA prospective clients)?
Working directly with these groups is your best defense. If you can partner with them and offer a “free first exam” for each adopted pet, you will have the opportunity to educate the client on the lifetime of care needed to keep their new pet healthy.
The pet may already be altered, chipped and vaccinated for their age but we know this is only the beginning. If you can invest the time in educating the team at the shelter, the client will not be surprised at the level of care and recommendations you will be communicating to them during the first visit.
