    Part I of this series introduced us to the concept of cell niche and helped us to understand why the response to treatment for osteoarthritis is not the same in every patient.

    In Part II we continue the discussion on the management of patients with osteoarthritis focusing on specific supplements and dietary considerations:

    Chondromodulating Agents:

    - Disease Modifying Osteoarthritis Drugs (DMOAD): polysulfated glycosaminoglycan and pentosan

    - Supplements: oral glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, green lipped mussel extract, omega three fatty acids, curcumin, avocado/soybean unsaponifiables, Zeel, and Boswellia.

    Veterinary therapeutic joint diets, dietary considerations in large breed puppies, and use of supplements on top of therapeutic diets.
