Join us in this live and interactive Pet Health Summit session in which you will hear from veterinary specialists and experts in the area of canine chronic kidney disease (CKD).
In this first segment of a 4-part series we will be focusing on the types of information needed to make the most appropriate, individualized treatment plans for our canine patients with chronic kidney disease. In particular, we will focus on why the information is important and how it helps us make clinical decisions. This will include a look at some of the newer diagnostic testing options available and how those can be incorporated into our workups of patients. This will provide a foundation for the next session when we begin discussing the therapeutic options for managing CKD.
Discussion will include:
- Interpretation of diagnostic tests and staging
- Diagnostic testing for CKD beyond the basics including other serum chemistry parameters, imaging modalities, and new biomarkers
- The importance of monitoring blood pressure and approaches to treatment
